Workplace conflict is unfortunately a major source of legal liability for organizations.

Sometimes business leaders and human resources teams have a plan for addressing workplace conflict but want to clear the plan with an employment attorney. Other times, leaders have no idea how to address the conflict. Either way, we are here to help.

Legal Consultations

At Accord Solutions, our attorney, Shaunda McNeill, will listen to you describe the particular workplace conflict in your organization and advise you on how to mitigate legal risk. She may be able to set your mind at ease, or she may advise you to change course or take swift action to avoid legal liability. Either way, you will know what you are facing and be prepared to act in a legally compliant manner.

Some of the types of workplace conflict that benefit from legal advice include: internal sexual harassment complaints, other internal harassment and discrimination complaints (e.g. race, national origin, sex, religion, gender identity), generational conflict between co-workers, performance-related conflict between managers and employees, and any interpersonal conflict between individuals in different protected classes.

Team Consultations

While the most urgent need may be to avoid legal liability, the ultimate goal is to place your team or organization on a solid legal and business footing. It is not enough to diagnose legal risk; your team needs to move beyond the conflict and return to high functioning and productivity.

Accordingly, we offer Team Consultations where your organization can receive legal advice from our attorney and business and HR advice from another team member. Together, we will work with you to create a legally compliant plan for moving forward. This may include reassessing your organization’s reporting or incentive structures; devising performance improvement plans; offering employees resources like coaching, mediation, or training; or implementing terminations or other corrective action, among other things.
